Class 4 Impact-Resistant Roofs in Northwest Arkansas
Free inspections · Licensed & insured · We work with your insurance
Class 4 shingles carry the highest impact rating under the UL 2218 test, where a 2 inch steel ball is dropped from 20 feet onto the shingle and it can't crack. In a hail region like Northwest Arkansas, they cut the odds of another full replacement after the next storm. Element Roofing installs them on new and storm re-roofs.

Are impact-resistant shingles worth it in Northwest Arkansas?
For many NWA homes, yes. Hail is one of the main reasons roofs here get replaced early, and a Class 4 roof is more likely to come through a storm intact. They cost more up front and look like standard architectural shingles. The cheapest time to upgrade is when the roof is being replaced anyway, since you pay only the difference over what insurance covers.

FAQs
How much more does a Class 4 roof cost? It depends on your roof and the product line. We price Class 4 and standard shingles side by side in your free estimate so you can compare.
Will insurance pay for Class 4 or give me a discount? A claim usually pays for what you had before, so you pay the difference to upgrade. Some insurers offer a premium discount for Class 4 roofs. Ask your agent, and we'll give you the paperwork they need.
Is a Class 4 roof hail proof? No roof is. Very large hail can still damage Class 4 shingles, but they resist it far better than standard ones.
