Roof Insurance Claims, Step by Step

Free inspections · Licensed & insured · We work with your insurance

Most storm roof claims follow the same path: free inspection, you file the claim, the adjuster inspects, the insurer approves a scope, and we replace the roof. Element Roofing documents the damage and meets your adjuster. The claim stays yours.

How does a roof insurance claim work?

  1. Free inspection. We photograph the damage and tell you honestly whether it's worth a claim.

  2. You file the claim. Call your insurer or use their app, with the storm date ready.

  3. Adjuster visit. We meet the adjuster on the roof and point out every hit we found.

  4. Scope review. If the insurer's estimate misses anything we documented, we send them our photos and measurements for you.

  5. Your new roof. We install it and send completion photos and the invoice, so any payment your insurer held back can be released.

What will I pay out of pocket?

Usually your deductible, plus any upgrades you choose.

FAQs

Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first? Get the free inspection first. If there's no real damage, you've avoided an unnecessary claim.

Do I have to use the roofer my insurance company suggests? No. You can pick your own contractor.

What if my claim is denied? Ask your insurer for the reason in writing. If we believe the damage is storm related, we'll share our photos and report so you can ask for a re-inspection.
